Be My Sweet{heart} Treat and Printable

Be My Sweetheart Valentine Treat and Printable

While I was gathering links for my 30 Edible Valentine Ideas for Kids round-up, I got inspired to come up with a little something of my own. This might not be as cute or as fancy of some of the ones I shared before, but it goes perfectly with the cute heart marshmallows I thought my grandkids would like.

I designed this bag tag to fit a standard sized sandwich bag, which is 6 1/2-nches wide. It this it is best to use the sandwich bags with the top that seals shut rather than the kind you fold over.

Start out by downloading the bag tag in either PDF or the JPG format. Each one is designed with 2 bag tags on a single page.

Print out the bag tags. Make sure when you print them out, it is set to print at 100% (if this is an option you have). Carefully cut the bag tags out on the light, gray line. I used a paper trimmer, but you can certainly sure a scissors if you prefer.

Fill your zip-top sandwich bag about half full (or less) with heart-shaped candy. I recommend Kraft’s strawberry flavored marshmallows. I usually don’t like any candy or sugary treat that taste fruity, but these are really good! If you would rather give a homemade treat, perhaps these mouthwatering, peanut butter-filled heart-shaped pretzels will do. Seal the bag — try to push most of the air out of the bag before you seal it.

Fold one of the bag tags in half, lining up the long edges. Slip it over the top of the bag full of hearts, and staple it in place.

That’s it! If you like, write a special message on the bag tag. These make a perfect gift for everyone you know. It can be for a child or a adult. Kids can make them for their classmates. Who will you make one for?
