This is a fast and easy craft project that is perfect to make for a fall decoration or as a way to celebrate going back to school. Let your kids make one of these apple magnets and give it to their teacher as a gift.
Use the supplies I suggest for this craft project or use whatever you have on hand. To make the apple, you can use felt, craft foam, or even colorful scrapbook paper. Personalize it as you see fit!
Supplies Needed to Make an Apple Magnet Craft:
- Canning Jar or Juice Can Lid (or any flat lid)
- Red and Green Felt
- Brown Chenille Stem
- Green or Yellow Bump Chenille Stem
- Magnet
- 2 Google Eyes
- Craft Glue or Hot Glue Sticks
Tools Needed:
- Pen or Marker
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun (optional)
This craft is so simple that your kids might want to make more than one!
Start out by laying the lid on the red felt and trace around it. Draw two small leaf shapes on the green felt. Cut them all out.
Cut a piece from the brown chenille stem that is about an inch long. Cut a piece from the green or yellow bump chenille stem that is about an inch long (you will want to use half of a bump).
Glue the magnet to the back of the lid. Glue the red circle of felt to the front of the lid. Glue the green leaves on top of the apple and then glue the brown chenilles stem where the leaves meet to look like a stem. I actually glued my stem to the back side of the lid.
Finally, top off your apple magnet with a cute, little worm by gluing the two google eyes onto the green or yellow bump chenille stem piece you gut. Glue that piece onto the apple!
