Last week, I was lucky enough to be able to spend 7 days at a quilting and crafting retreat with some friends. This is a trip we do twice a year and is always a ton of fun.
At this camp, not only do I get to work on my own projects, I also get to go to any of the classes they provide. They always invite a shop in to set up a mini-store and to also teach fun classes. One of the classes at this retreat was to make Glitz and Glam tote bags.
During this class, we not only learned how to make a simple tote bag we learned how to add a little bling to it! This bling included glitter, sequins, metallic threads, tinsel, and other shiny objects. You then cover the bling with clear vinyl and sew around it so it stays put.
I was excited to try this technique, making mini-tote bags that my granddaughters could use… Perhaps though, I went a little overboard on the bling?
What do you think? Is this a craft fun project or a craft fail project?
Personally, I think there is just a little too much going on for me in this totes… This was such a fun project though, I will definitely be trying it again — and when I do, you can count on me posting a tutorial!
