Number 1 Baseball Fan Hand

Number 1 Fan Baseball Hand

If you are planning a trip to a baseball game, make this craft to take along with you. Not only will it show everyone how much you love your team, it is truly a fan you can use to cool yourself on a hot day.  It is easy to personalize this craft. If you have a favorite player on the baseball team, you can write their number on the ball instead of the number one.  You can also use craft foam in your team’s colors instead of brown.

Supplies You Need:

  • Paper
  • Craft Foam
  • Dowel Rod (approximately ¼-inch thick by 12-inches long)
  • Craft Glue
  • Dimensional Paint
  • Duct Tape

Tools You Need

  • Printer
  • Scissors

You should start off by printing out my mitt and baseball pattern.  Cut out the mitt and trace it onto a piece of brown craft foam, twice.  Next, cut the ball out of the center of the mitt and trace it onto a piece of white craft foam, twice.  Now, cut out both craft foam mitts and both craft foam ball.

Baseball Mitt Pattern

Lay the mitts out on your work surface. Lay them side by side so the opposite sides are face up (the thumbs should be next to each other. Glue a baseball to the center of each mitt. Use red dimensional paint to draw the baseball laces.  Also use dimensional paint to write the #1 on the ball. Let the paint draw (this can take several hours).

Craft Foam Baseball Mitts

Once the paint on the baseballs is dry, use duct tape to attach the dowel to the back side of one of the mitts. Spread a generous amount of glue onto the back of the other mitt. Try to line up the fingers as well as you can and press the glue covered mitt to the back of the other mitt to cover the dowel. Let the glue dry and your fan is ready to use.
